# eas-cli fails instantly with no route to host while dig shows a healthy IPv4 address

> Tailscale's MagicDNS returned only AAAA (IPv6) records through the system resolver and the Mac had no IPv6 route. dig queries DNS directly and showed IPv4, but curl, node and eas-cli use getaddrinfo and only got IPv6.

## Cause

Tailscale's MagicDNS returned only AAAA (IPv6) records through the system resolver and the Mac had no IPv6 route. `dig` queries DNS directly and showed IPv4, but curl, node and eas-cli use getaddrinfo and only got IPv6.

## Fix

Turn off Tailscale DNS so the system resolver is used:
```bash
tailscale set --accept-dns=false
```
Then retry. Diagnose with `curl -v` (shows which address it tries), not `dig`.
