# Google Sign-In works on your machine's builds and fails on CI/EAS builds

> GoogleSignin.configure() uses the web client ID, which existed only in a local .env.

Expo. Confirmed fix, 26 September 2026.

Versions: @react-native-google-signin, EAS

There is no error message for this one, only the symptom in the title.

## Cause

`GoogleSignin.configure()` uses the web client ID, which existed only in a local .env. Any build or update made without that file shipped `undefined`.

## Fix

Put every EXPO_PUBLIC_ value the app needs in the EAS environment (or eas.json profile), then rebuild. Grep the shipped bundle for the value to confirm.
